About Samuel Mattine

Samuel Mattine is a fully accredited board-certified consultant surgeon with sub-specialist interest in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive surgery. Samuel was trained in a number of prestigious hospitals, both in the UK and France. He is one of the handful of surgeons in the UK to have uniquely achieved dual fellowship in Head & Neck Surgery as well as Craniofacial Surgery.

With extensive clinical experience and a practice EXCLUSIVELY DEDICATED TO THE FACE, Samuel provides his clients with a unique expertise and understanding in the cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the Face and the Neck. He has pioneered many innovations in surgery, including a signature DESIGNER FACELIFT and is known for his flawless, yet naturally looking results.

Samuel offers the most comprehensive and state of the art facial aesthetic procedures including different types of face and neck lifts, eye lid procedure, rhinoplasty, otoplasty, bespoke facial implants and fat grafting, Lip lift, surgery for the brows and forehead and a diverse range of

procedures to address the chin and jaws, all customised to your individual needs. He also offers non -surgical procedures such as Botulinum Toxins, fillers and chemical peels.

Extensive Training

  • Mr Mattine completed a comprehensive training in a number of prestigious hospitals, both in the UK and France. He graduated from Birmingham Medical School and undertook broad surgical training in General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Trauma & Orthopaedics and Breast Surgery before spending time in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in the West Midlands.
  • After returning to the UK, he was selected for one of the 7 nationally awarded advanced Interface Head & Neck /Reconstructive Microvascular surgery fellowships at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, where he developed skills in advanced facial reconstruction.
  • He subsequently embarked on specialist higher surgical training in the Northwest and was awarded his specialist intercollegiate FRCS Exam.He was awarded the European Association of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery Leibenger Prize as well as the British Association of OMFS travelling fellowship to complete a craniofacial fellowship in Paris where he refined his skills in modern aesthetic and plastic surgery procedures.
  • He has completed sub-specialist training in facial reanimation and total ear reconstruction, having trained with internationally renowned pioneers of these techniques in France. Internationally, he gained further exposure in Hong Kong.He is a core member of specialist Head & Neck multidisciplinary team and a member of the specialist multidisciplinary team managing skin cancer.

International Reputation

  • Samuel has developed an international reputation as an expert in facial surgery. He has contributed to medical literature and frequently invited to give lectures, keynote talks and Masterclass symposiums at international conferences worldwide. He is an invited reviewer of manuscripts for several peer review journals including Archives of Craniofacial Surgery and Journal of Wound Management and Research.
  • He has pioneered many technical innovations in surgery and applies most advanced technology to improve outcomes and reduce morbidity for his patients. He has been invited to demonstrate his surgical techniques in teaching hospitals overseas.

  • Mr Mattine is a consultant surgeon in the Head & Neck Directorate at Worcester Royal Hospital.
  • He offers state of the art treatment for Head & Neck pathology and cancer and is recognised as an expert in providing advanced facial reconstructive techniques including complex microvascular free tissue transfer and facial Plastic Surgery.
  • He is a core member of the specialist Head & Neck multidisciplinary team and has been instrumental in leading the development of Head & Neck Services and establishing the unit at the forefront of Head & Neck Surgery.

Education

  • He enjoys teaching and is involved in training higher surgical trainees both in the UK and overseas. He is the Educational Supervisor for specialist trainee in Worcester and Hereford and examines for University of Birmingham Medical school.
  • Mr Mattine is an invited instructor and faculty at several international courses, including the Paris Face Meeting and the Gent Facelift Course in Belgium. He often lectures to large audiences in UK, Europe, Middle East and Far East.

Humanitarian Work

  • Samuel is committed to helping those in need throughout the world. He frequently offers complex lifesaving surgery to repair disfigurement due to cancer, trauma, and birth defects in patients where there is limited financial or local medical resources and has operated on several such patients over the years.
  • This is also an excellent opportunity for training the next generation of reconstructive surgeons and developing the services locally.
